Bodega Descendientes de J. Palacios came to the Bierzo region in 1999, where Ricardo Pérez Palacios grows 15 hectares of old vines.

Bodega Descendientes de J. Palacios is nourished by vineyards  under the Appellation Bierzo, distributed in about 60 small plots with very diverse expositions and on different scales of altitude, due to its composition of hilldides with steep slopes.

Ricardo Pérez and Álvaro Palacios in 1999 arrived to the mountainous area of ​​Corullón moved by the illusion of extolling their wine potential, in this municipality at west of the central basin of Bierzo. Bodega Descendientes de J. Palacios has 30 hectares of vineyard spread over 200 plots . It is a constellation of tiny vineyards of old vines on very steep soils.

Álvaro Palacios is the son of Riojan winemakers and Ricardo is his nephew and has extensive experience in countries such as France and Chile.

The winery is built in Corullón, a municipality and locality of El Bierzo, in the province of León designed by the architect Rafael Moneo.

Its cultivation follows the discipline of biodynamics, which unites the organic and the immaterial in a permanent search for the definition and purity of the plant, and of course, the peculiarities of a continental climate with clear oceanic influences. the pluviometry is higher than 800 mm per year.

The soils are slate and the climate of the area is halfway between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, with cold winters and hot, dry summers.
