The Belondrade cellar was born in the year 2000 in the municipality of La Seca in Valladolid by the hand of Didier Belondrade, and which currently produces the Belondrade and Lurton wines, Belondrade Quinta Apolonia and Belondrade Quinta Clarisa.
The Belondrade winery was born in the year 2000 but it was in 1994 when its founder Didier Belondrade presented his wine Belondrade y Lurton that revolutionized the Spanish white wine market.
The vineyards are located at an altitude of 750 meters. The climate of the area is continental, with cold and long winters and short, hot summers, with large changes in temperature between day and night, which favors the correct maturation of the grapes.
The winery has 19 plots where 30 hectares of vineyard are located where each one has different characteristics depending on the type of soil or its orientation. The soils of the area are formed by boulders and a layer of clayed subsoil, and a deeper layer of limestone.
Each hectare of land has a planting density of between 1,100 and 3,000 plants, with an age of between 8 and 30 years.
Due to the late frosts and the possibility of hail, long pruning is done to favor aeration and the harvest in green if necessary.
Quinta Clarisa 2022 that takes the name from one of the daughters of the cellar owner, made with tempranillo, teaches us how a rosé can be at the same level as a white or a red wine. It is a sweet and fruity wine to have fun with.
