Pago de los Capellanes is a family cellar founded in the town of Pedrosa de Duero in 1996 by the married couple formed by Paco Rodero and Conchita Villa recovered this and other vineyards in the area.

Pago de los Capellanes cellar is located in the Ribera del Duero, a privileged area for the production and elaboration of wines thanks to its characteristic climate and soil.

The zone is characterized by the great temperature change between day and night, approximately 20ºC difference, which helps a better maturation of the grapes, enhances the alcoholic degree and maintains a balanced acidity.

The soil of the area is characterized by being composed of clay, gravel and sand which gives the vineyards a natural and optimal hydration and temperature that will give rise to their famous velvety wines.

Red wines are made with the Tempranillo grape variety, characteristic of wines with intense color and structure.

The harvest is done manually and once in the cellar the grapes pass a second selection which guarantees the choice of the best bunches. Later the grapes undergo an alcoholic fermentation process and aging in French oak barrels 10 meters underground. Finally, they are bottled without filtering or clarifying and rest for a while in the bottle.
