Está elaborado por Bodegas Avancia, un proyecto de Jorge y Victoria Ordoñez situado cerca de la localidad de O Barco de Valdeorras. En la década de los 80, investigadores gallegos fueron recuperando la variedad Godello. Jorge Ordoñez fue el primero en introducir los vinos de esta uva en Estados Unidos.
