Pago de Carraovejas 2018
Pago de Carraovejas 2018, made with tinta del país, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, follows the line of the previous ones, is one of the bests.
Located on the slopes of Peñafiel, Pago de Carraovejas was the first in the Ribera del Duero to use the Cabernet up to 25%, to use French oak for its barrels and in drip irrigation. In 1991 they made the first harvest.
Winemaking and aging
Pago de Carraovejas 2018 is a blend of 79% Tinto Fino, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot. The Pago de Carraovejas grape is selected in the field by the vineyard staff throughout the vegetative cycle of the plant. It is harvested by hand and arrives in a cellar in small, vibrant stainless steel trailers, which will spoil every movement of the grape. De-stemmed without squeezing, in very wide tanks for a better extraction of flavors, aromas and color.
Aging of 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Clarification with natural egg white.
