Valduero 2 maderas 2017, with 15 months in the barrel, they like to indicate that it is more than just aging. This is in our opinion, a harmonious wine, spicy and very well structured.

This family winery was created in Gumiel de Mercado, Burgos, in the year 1984 and it is one of the oldest in the Appellation Ribera del Duero


Winemaking and Ageing

Valduero 2 maderas 2017 is made with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes. The grapes, harvested by hand in boxes of 14 kg, fermented for 9 days between 23 and 28ºc of temperature, followed by a maceration of 10 days. A time in which when reaching the maximum temperature of fermentation, the process of daily overhaul is carried out.

The last step is to let the wine rest in oak barrels from two origins for about 15 months and, at least, 12 months more in the bottle.

  • Nose: Fruity aromas, balsamic and spicy with cumin, clove and nutmeg details.

Valduero 2 maderas 2017 is ideal to accompany beef, scrambled, Iberian sausages and semi-cured cheeses. Preferably consume between 17 and 19 ºC.
