Elaboration
Champagne Mumm Cordon Rouge is composed of grapes: Pinot Noir (45%), provides structure and strength. Chardonnay (30%), which gives it finesse and elegance and the fruity, vivacious and round aspect of Pinot Meunier (25%)
A pressing and a vinification of each strain and each cru separately allows to obtain a wide palette of aromas and sensations. They incorporate from 25 to 30% of reserve wines to add complexity to the final champagne.
In 1876, to better reflect the spirit of quality of his champagnes, he decided to decorate his bottles with a red silk ribbon, in reference to the Royal Order of San Luis and the Grand Cordon of the Legion of Honor.
Success is immediate: symbol of excellence and know-how of G.H. Mumm, the Cordon Rouge cuvée has since become a true world reference.
