Solanera Viñas Viejas 2013 is a coupage of Monastrell (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Garnacha Tintorera (15%). The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 44 years for Monastrell and Garnacha Tintorera varieties, and 19 years for the Cabernet Sauvignon.
These vineyards are planted 750 meters above sea level on a rocky limestone soil with some parts of clay and sand. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C. Solanera goes through a 10-month aging in oak, 80% French oak and 20% American.
