Bodegas Palacio was founded in 1894 by D.Cosme Palacio in the Rioja Alavesa, with the aim of making the cellar the most advanced one in the region.

Bodegas Palacio is located at the foot of Laguardia, between the Ebro River and Sierra de Cantabria. The cellar integrates tradition and innovation with pioneering decisions in La Rioja Alavesa, such as the elaboration of each vineyard separately.

Bodegas Palacio currently belongs to the Grupo Bodegas Palacio 1894, which also includes Viña Mayor wineries and vineyards, Finca Caserío de Dueñas and Finca Anzil, although each of them retains its own identity.

The vineyards are formed by the Tempranillo and Viura grape varieties, located and protected by the rocks of the sierra. The vineyards are located at high altitude on clay soils and limestone facing south. The characteristic climate of the area is Mediterranean with Atlantic influences.

The cellar mixes tradition and modernity with pioneering ways of working with the product in the sector, such as the exhaustive selection of grapes or the separate elaboration of each vineyard. The maceration of their wines is carried out in new French oak barrels for a long period of time.

The cellar belongs to the Bodegas Palacio Group, along with other cellars such as Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Mayor, Bodegas Caserío de Dueñas, Bodegas y Viñedos Anzil.
