Bodegas Marqués de Cáceres was founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner, who was called Marqués de Cáceres, Unión Vitivinícola, S.A in La Rioja Alta.
Bodegas Marqués de Cáceres emerged in 1970 as an alliance between an entrepreneurial family dedicated to the world of wine and the best terroirs in La Rioja Alta. Currently the cellaaris managed by Cristina Forner, the fourth generation of the family in charge of the project. Enrique Forner, Cristina's father, had been selling wines since he was a child and founded in 1920 together with his father "Vinícola Forner" in Sagunto (Valencia). Currently the wines made by this winery are present in more than 120 countries.
The pillars on which the Bodegas Marqués de Cáceres cellar is founded are the ideas assimilated by Enrique in France who moved to La Rioja in 1970. The name was given by an old friend of the Forner family, Vicente Noguera Espinosa de los Monteros, Marqués de Cáceres and Great from Spain.
The cellar's vineyards are located on the best plots, which is achieved by studying the climatology, soil quality, age of the vineyard and productive yields, in such a way that they achieve the greatest expressiveness of each plot by selecting of differentiated grapes and vineyards.
One of the main characteristics of the Bodegas Marqués de Cáceres cellar is the long macerations that its wines have, the stay in barrels of the wines varies according to the type of wine you want to make and they are made in 60% French oak barrels and 40% American.
The last project of this cellar has been its expansion to the D.O Rueda, where it has 125 hectares of vineyard where the Verdejo grape predominates but there are also Sauvignon Blanc plantations.
