One of its hallmarks is the use of very small alembics for the production of its whiskies, which results in very fruity and intense drinks, due to direct contact with copper.
Furthermore, the distillery only uses 16% of the distillation in copper pot stills to fill its oak barrels, which means an exhaustive selection that is the starting point of its whiskies. They have a total of 36 alembics with a capacity of 15 million liters.
Nick Savage is the master distiller who together with his team taste thousands of samples every year to create the most recognizable expressions of The Macallan. They use different barrels for different whiskies to create different expressions.
