Elaboration
Malibu Rum is made with a base of white rum and natural coconut extracts to give it a different and very distinctive touch. It is mainly used to prepare cocktails, such as pina colada. Its origin is found on the island of Barbados, in the Caribbean Islands, in 1980. At the beginning it was made with different liquors of fruit, as well as coconut, but the best known and sold version is coconut.
