Cune Imperial Reserva 2019
Denominación de Origen: Rioja
Tipo: Red wine
Uva: Tempranillo
Description
Cune Imperial Reserva 2018 has been made since 1920 with Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes, and owes its name to a special bottling made for the English market and called Imperial Pint.
It is only produced when the harvest is exceptional, with vines that are more than 20 years old and the Atlantic character of that area of Rioja Alta, giving us one of the best wines in Spain for almost 100 years.
Preparation and aging
Cune Imperial Reserva 2018 corresponds to a selection of the best grapes harvested manually in the Rioja Alta vineyards. After fermentation, the wine is kept in the tank, where it macerates until the desired color and structure is obtained. Malolactic fermentation refines the wine, leaving it at its appropriate acidity.
The aging takes place in American and French oak barrels before being clarified with egg whites and bottling, finally moving to cellars where it ages in the bottle until it is released to the market.
