Ramón Bilbao Gran Reserva 2012 is a red wine from the Rioja DO produced by the Ramón Bilbao winery.
The Ramón Bilbao Winery was founded in 1924 in Haro, Rioja Alta, producing quality wines since then. In 2015 it was named best Spanish Winery at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London.
Preparation and aging
Ramón Bilbao Gran Reserva 2012 is made from Tempranillo (90%), Graciano (5%) and Garnacha (5%). The grapes come from old vineyard plots in Haro and its surroundings (Las Arogues, La Llana, San Prudencio...). Its production begins with a harvest and manual selection during the third week of October.
Once in the winery, the wine ferments at a controlled temperature and remains in American oak barrels for 30 months. After bottling, the wine spends 36 months aging in an underground bottle rack.
