Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza was founded by Fernando Remírez de Ganuza in 1989, with the philosophy of making the grape the protagonist of its wines.

Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza, founded in 1989 in La Rioja, with the premise of intervening as little as possible in the winemaking process. It is located in Samaniego, Álava.

Its founder Fernando dedicated himself over the decades to buying and selling old vineyards, which selected the most selected farms in the region, La Rioja Alavesa.

Over the years Remirez de Ganuza has been incorporating innovative techniques for the production of its wines, very common today, but at the forefront a few years ago such as: Selection table in the cellar, cold rooms, new barrels for aging, extraction del Trasnocho or machine to wash the grapes with their own must.

The traditional architecture of the cellar, in which the interior cover made up of centuries-old oak beams stands out. The vineyards form a total of 80 hectares of Tempranillo, Graciano, Viura and Malvasía varieties, distributed in different localities in the area such as Samaniego, Leza, Elciego, San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Laguardia and Ábalos.

In all of them, the habitat, the microclimate, the orientation of the plots, the low productivity of the vines and the age of the vineyard have been taken into account for their selection, the average age of the vines being fifty years. This large area of ​​land allows us to self-supply the highest quality grapes.
