Finca Villacreces is located in the golden mile of the Ribera del Duero, in Valladolid. Since 2004, its owners are Gonzalo and Lalo Antón.

Finca Villacreces owes its name to the Franciscan friar Pedro de Villacreces, first resident of this estate on the banks of the Duero. Along with other clerics, Pedro de Villacreces already cultivated this land with a small vineyard used for their own consumption.

In 2004, Gonzalo and Lalo Antón acquired the winery and in 2007 Finca Villacreces was reopened.

The winery has a total of 110 hectares, 64 of which are vineyards. These 64 hectares are divided into 15 different plots where the Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties are cultivated. These farms are mixed with a centenary pine forest.

The soils on which the vineyards are located are very varied, from sandy to stony soils, which give rise to vineyards of low production of about 4,000 kilograms per hectare, located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. The climate of the area is characterized by long, cold winters and hot, dry summers, with low rainfall.

The production of the vineyards is less than 2 kilograms per vine, they are cultivated through integrated viticulture, thus allowing the vine to thrive naturally and give rise to wines with more personality. Each plot is made separately and the cellar has pressure tanks to favor the automatic bazuqueo in the fermentation.

The winery is located in the center of the estate, built to preserve its natural environment, while guaranteeing an exhaustive control in the management of every detail of the process of making the Villacreces wines. The grapes go through a double table of selection to guarantee the quality of the fruit, first cluster by cluster and later with a system called mistral with which the berries are separated by means of an air fan. The wines age in French oak barrels.
