Laya 2022 is a young red wine that has achieved in previous years some very good marks from international wine critics.

The first crop of Bodegas Atalaya goes back to 2007, since then they have been advancing and researching and working in the development of Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell varieties until reflecting the character and personality of the area.

Winemaking and Ageing

Laya 2022 is a blend of Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell varieties. The grapes come from vineyards planted at an altitude of between 700 and 1,000 meters above sea level, on limestone soils and a continental climate with low rainfall.

The process starts with a grape maceration before fermentation, which is performed separately for each variety in stainless steel for 15 days at 25 ° C. After the fermentation, Laya takes a short aging of 4 months in French oak barrels.

Laya 2022 Tasting Notes

  • View: Laya 2022 has a very intense cherry red color with some bright violet reflections, dense tear.
  • Nose: Elegant and complex nose. Prominence for ripe fruit and some floral notes. Toasted, chocolate, dairy memories and slight minerality.
  • Palate: On the palate is a nice wine with a fresh entry, medium bodied. Balanced with sweet tannins but something vibrant.

Pairing

Laya 2022 is ideal with white meats, rice, pasta with meat sauce, sausage, beans, small game, mushrooms and grilled red meats.
