Cardhu Gold Reserve
Cardhu Gold Reserve is an exceptional golden liquid that comes from the subtle union of the soft and silky character of Cardhu with the taste of dark chocolate and ripe fruit.
Cardhu was born in 1811 on a small farm in the Speyside region, the place where Helen Cumming began to make whisky in small quantities.
Cardhu Gold Reserve is aged in the most toasted barrels of the distillery. Thoroughly selected by Master Distiller Maureen Robinson. These barrels provide warm notes of toffee and ripe fruit to the softness characteristic of Cardhu and the whiskys from Speyside (Scotland).
Cardhu Gold Reserve Tasting Notes
- View: Cardhu Gold Reserve has an intense amber color, with reflections of ancient gold.
- Nose: Shy and soft at the beginning, with an exceptional delicacy and a marked freshness. Little by little it reveals the sweetness of preserved fruits, where there are touches of red apple skin, orange peel, fresh pear and barley sugar mixed with icing sugar or marzipan.
- Palate: More flavor and dryness than suggested on the nose. It has a smooth texture, with an initial sweetness that is cut by the defined orange zest.
Pairing and consumption suggestions
Cardhu Gold Reserve is ideal to accompany with parmesan flakes and nuts. A minty chocolate is the ideal accompaniment. Enjoy it alone, with ice or water.
