Bodegas Juan Gil was founded by Juan Gil Giménez in 1916 in the center of the town of Jumilla.
Bodegas Juan Gil was founded by the grandfather of the current owners, and it was the third generation of the family. The brothers Juan and Paco Gil González who have achieved the image of quality and efficacy today.
In order to adapt to new trends in the wine world, a new cellar was built in the municipality of Jumilla within the so-called "Termino de Arriba", a place of great winemaking tradition.
The farm has a total of 120 hectares and is located 700 meters above sea level. The cellar is located in the demographic center of the farm, on the hill known as De Cerezo.
The vineyards are planted on sandy loam soil and limestone on the surface. The climate of the area is continental with large temperature changes between day and night, which favors the correct ripening of the grapes. these conditions make the grapes small and concentrated.
The varieties they work with in the Bodegas Juan Gil cellar are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot and the most widely used Monastrell.
