Mar de Frades is a cellar located in the Salnés valley, in the heart of the Rias Baixas Appallation of Origin.
Created in 1987, the cellar is part of the Ramón Bilbao group.
Mar de Frades, or "Mar de Frailes", is the name of the place where the cellar is located. It is called like that because it was a landing point for pilgrims traveling by sea to Santiago de Compostela.
Here is the Finca Valiñas, next to the Ría de Arousa, at the mouth of the Umia river, an area specially equipped for the cultivation of the Albariño grape, the jewel of Galician wine.
