List of products by brand Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos
Bodegas Aalto is located in Rivera del Duero, was born with the aim of being among the best cellars in the world, and under the pillars of the grape variety Tinta Fina and the respect for the characteristics of Ribera del Duero. Mariano García, current winemaker and founding partner, was responsible for the Vega Sicilia wines.
Until 2004 Bodegas Aalto wines were elaborated in rented facilities, and from 2005 they elaborate in their own facilities located in Quintanilla de Arriba.
The cellar has 110 hectares of old vineyards of Tinta Fina and distributed by 7 different municipalities of Ribera del Duero: Roa, La Horra, La Aguilera, Fresnillo, Fuentelcésped, Moradillo and Baños de Valdearados. 200 parcels of very low efficiency what allows an excellent quality of the grapes. The altitude of the vineyards ranges between 800 and 915 meters. In addition, the cellar has vineyards in two villages of Valladolid which are their own vineyards and have decided to start incorporating these grapes into their wines.
The cultivation is done without herbicides or fertilizers, the harvest is always done by hand in small boxes, and each plot is managed in a different way, both the work in the vineyards and the aging process. The wines are not clarified or filtered to maintain the essence of them.
This cellar produces only two different wines, one of them is Aalto Ps, voted the best wine in Spain, the other wine they make is the Aalto wine. The cellar itself is located among the 100 best wineries in the world. Wine production ranges from 250,000 bottles per year for Aalto wine and 20,000 bottles of Aalto Ps wine.
