Gin Fifty Pounds is a "super premium" category gin that has come to light after its recipe has remained hidden and unpublished for several generations of a family of London distillers. It owes its name to the tax that King George II imposed on gin distillers in 1736, in order to reduce consumption, and with which he achieved the opposite. The botanicals used are juniper, grains of paradise, orange, lemon, coriander, licorice, angelica, savoir and three secret components.
