Winemaking and aging
Ramón Bilbao Gran Reserva 2012 is made from Tempranillo (90%), Graciano (5%) and Garnacha (5%). The grapes come from plots of old Haro vineyard and its surroundings (Las Arogues, La Llana, San Prudencio ...). Its preparation begins with a harvest and manual selection during the third week of October.
Once in the cellar, the wine ferments at a controlled temperature and stays for 30 months in American oak barrels. After bottling the wine goes throught 36 months of aging in an underground wine rack.
