Facundo Bacardí Massó was the first to intentionally age the rum to achieve a specific development of aroma and flavor, aging the rum for a minimum of twelve months in barrels of lightly charred American white oak that offered Bacardí Rum an optimum degree of maturation.

Today the Bacardi Superior white rum maintains the excellence of that first rum created in 1862.

Bacardi Rum 1L. has ​​a minimum maturation of 18 months.
