Brugal Añejo is a rum from the Dominican Republic. It can boast of being the third brand in the international rum market and the third brand in the European market.
Its origin is Spanish through Don Andrés Brugal Montaner who founded in the second half of the 19th century, in Puerto Plata, Brugal & CO.
Brugal Añejo presents an aging of 5 years. Made from alcohol produced by the fermentation of sugarcane molasses, like all Dominican products. The sugar cane once cut is transported to the mills where it is squeezed until all its juice is extracted.
This juice called molasses is transported to the Brugal distillery where it first ferments with yeasts in tanks of high capacity. After this process, it is vacuum distilled and the resulting alcohol goes through its last process of elaboration with demineralized water for aging in burned white oak barrels.
