Bosque de Matasnos 2022

Bosque de Matasnos 2022 is a very particular wine, due to its cultivation at altitude and its unusual blend for the Ribera del Duero, which make it an always pleasant surprise.

The Matasnos farm is located in Peñaranda de Duero, Burgos, 18 kilometers from Aranda del Duero towards Soria, on the Ribera del Duero plateau with 950 meters of altitude.

Preparation and aging

Bosque de Matasnos 2022 is made with Tempranillo (90%), Merlot (5%), Malbec (3%) and Garnacha (2%) grape varieties. Bosque de Matasnos aging is based on the best raw materials, selected in the field and later on the selection belt. Approximate average yield of less than 3,000 kg per hectare, mainly from old vines.

For aging, only new 90% French and 10% American oak barrels with 36 months of drying are used, both premium quality. It remains in the bottle for 12 months.

• View: Bosque de Matasnos has an intense red color with violet iridescence and a very high layer due to our production process with very long fermentations at low temperatures.
• Nose: The nose has complex, high-intensity aromas of ripe fruit with a magnificent integration of wood. We find ripe plums, some black fruit, very fine spices, bakery, vanilla and cocoas. Likewise, hints of caramel and cinnamon appear elegantly.
• Mouth: In the mouth there is a good balance between acidity and ripe fruit, the black fruit appears again. Light and very pleasant fatty notes upon entry into the mouth, with volume and length. The tannins are sweet and well ripe with an aftertaste of elegant spices again.

Bosque de Matasnos is ideal to accompany stewed birds, roasted, grilled or stewed red meats, blue fish, cheeses, sausages and foie gras.
