Cachaça Leblon was created by Robert Stoll, Steve Luttmann Gerard Schweizer and Gilles Merlet in Minas Gerai (Brazil).

It is a distillate whose production process is considered to be that of a good wine, made with love and elegance, achieving a fruity aroma with hints of vanilla.

History

Cachaça Leblon was created by Robert Stoll , Steve Luttmann Gerard Schweizer and Gilles Merlet in Minas Gerai (Brazil). Subsequently, it expanded to the United States in 2005, then to Brazil (2006), Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and, finally, to some markets in Asia.

Maison Leblon is committed to minimizing waste, reducing energy needs and preserving the environment. In the sugarcane fields, all discarded sugarcane leaves and tips are given to local farmers for livestock feed

Leblon is produced in its own distillery in the Brazilian cachaça-producing region of Minas Gerais. Merlet, one of the master producers, considers the distillation of Leblon as that of a good wine.

The cane is harvested by hand in the fields of Leblon and sent to the distillery for pressing. The resulting juice ferments for 20-24 hours before being transferred to single-batch distillation copper stills. The distillate rests for at least 6 months in Vintage XO cognac barrels from France. The various batches are mixed and result in a final batch that is filtered and bottled. Leblon Cachaça, when distilled in copper stills, which are smaller and slower, is classified as an artisanal Cachaça. In fact, it is certified by the Instituto Mineiro de Agropecuária as an artisanal Cachaça de Alambique.
