History

In 1783 Jacob Schweppe , a German jeweler and scientist living in Geneva, was the first to create an industrial process to produce carbonated soft drinks. From this moment on, the process expanded and in 1934 Doctor Trigo, a Valencian pharmacist, created a drink called Naranjina. This, a few years later, passed into the hands of the Frenchman León Beton who renamed it Orangina and launched it in Algeria. It had a great reception.

When Schweppes established itself in Spain in 1957, the expansion began throughout the national territory, starting with Madrid in 1959. In fact, the emblematic Schweppes sign on Gran Vía was established in 1969. In 1989, they acquired Trinaranjus and Vida.
