Vatán 2023 is a reserve red wine made with 100% Tinta de Toro grapes, and with the Toro Designation of Origin.
Made by the Ordoñez winery in Toro, owned by Jorge Ordoñez, who is currently the most important exporter of Spanish wine in the United States.
Preparation and aging
Vatán 2023 is a 100% Tinta de Toro single varietal. The grapes that make this wine come from a 115-year-old vineyard, the most characteristic vineyard of this winery. The harvest is carried out manually in 18 kilogram boxes, carried out between the end of September and the beginning of October.
The climate of this area is a continental climate, which is characterized by large temperature changes between day and night and by little rainfall throughout the year.
It has a fermentation process in tubs with indigenous yeasts, and a malolactic fermentation process in French oak barrels.
Finally, it goes through a 22-month aging process in new French oak barrels. It is bottled without filtering or clarifying.
