La Atalaya del Camino 2023 is a aged red wine with a certain freshness and complexity.

The first harvest of Bodegas Atalaya dates back to the 2007 vintage. Since then, progress and research have been made in the production of the Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell varieties to reflect the character and personality of the land.

Preparation and aging

La Atalaya del Camino 2023 is made from the Garnacha Tintorera variety, a type of grape native to the area, and from the Monastrell variety. The grapes come from vineyards planted between 700m and 1000m high on sandy and limestone soils. To make it, a maceration-fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks for about 20 days at a temperature of 25ºC.

After vinification, La Atalaya is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Note of La Atalaya del Camino 2023

  • View: La Atalaya del Camino has a cherry red color with violet reflections, with a high layer.
  • Nose: Great aromatic intensity, presence of ripe red fruit with spicy and herbaceous notes.
  • Palate: Powerful and meaty at the entrance, with a broad and unctuous palate, leaving sensations of red fruit combined with spicy touches. Long and persistent finish.

Pairing

La Atalaya del Camino is ideal to accompany roast lamb, acorn-fed Iberian ham, roasts, stews, sheep cheeses and wild game.

The appropriate storage and consumption temperature to fully enjoy this wine should be around 15º. It is important that the temperature is constant, avoiding thermal jumps that negatively influence the quality of the wine.
