López Cristóbal La Colorada 2021

López Cristóbal La Colorada 2021 is a red wine, produced by the López Cristóbal Winery with Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. It is made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Merlot. Its grapes come from 30-year-old vineyards.

It is a fruity wine, with intense aromas and persistent flavors. Pairs very well with venison, pepper steaks and barbecue.

Elaboration

The grapes come from the vineyards of Finca La Colorada , located at 790 meters above sea level with calcareous soil. The harvest is manual, then it goes through fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28ºC. Subsequently, it is aged in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels for 12 months. Finally, it rests for another 12 months in the bottle. A total of 90,000 bottles were produced.

• Nose : It is an elegant and clean wine, its fruity aromas are reminiscent of red fruit, currant, blackberry and blackberry.

The first to plant a seed, of what is now known as Bodega López Cristóbal, was Santiago López in the 1930s. Later, in 1994, his son, also Santiago, would found the Winery. López Cristóbal is committed to tradition always accompanied by innovation. They have 700 barrels, with a capacity of between 225 and 500 liters, where 80% are French oak and 20% American.

They give great importance to aging, not only in the barrel, but also in the bottle, where they rest afterwards.

They have a total of 70 hectares of vineyards, distributed between Roa and Pedrosa de Duero.
