Luis Cañas Selección de la Familia 2019 is a red wine from the DO La Rioja made by Bodegas Luis Cañas in Villabuena, Alava.

Luis Cañas is one of the Rioja wineries that has been accumulating the most awards in recent years, thanks to its excellent treatment of the raw material, the grape, in the vineyard, and the updating of its winemaking techniques.

Preparation and aging

Luis Cañas Selección de la Familia 2020 is made with the Tempranillo variety (85%) and complemented with other red varieties (15%). Manual harvest in 11 kilogram plastic boxes. Double table selection: clusters and grains. Destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation in 10 hectoliter wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels.

Aging for 20 months in new barrels. (50% French and 50% American).
