Preparation and aging

Malleolus 2023 is a wine with Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin made from 100% Tinto Fino. Malleolus translated from Latin as hawthorn, is the way to call the vineyards in Pesquera de Duero. With its birth, the categories of Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva were replaced by wines with their own identity. Grown from hawthorn grapes between 25 and 75 years old, it represents a turning point in the History of Emilio Moro.

The wine has spent 18 days macerating with the skins and then undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. It has been aged for 18 months in new French Allier oak barrels until bottling.

Tasting Note of Malleolus 2023

• View: Malleolus has a ripe cherry color, background covered with a thin layer of maroon trim.
• Nose: The nose is a very intense wine where jammy black fruit, balsamic notes and aromatic woods predominate. Spicy aromas of clove and coffee also stand out, with clay mineral touches.
• Mouth: The palate is powerful and concentrated with great balance. Retronasally, the spices, black fruit and aromatic woods appear again. The palate is velvety and with an excellent integration between fruit and wood.
