Ossian 2022 is a white wine from Castilla-León, a 100% Verdejo from old pre-phylloxera vines, organically grown in the highest altitude area of Rueda.
Ossian Vides y Vinos began to make its Verdejos outside the Rueda DO in order to have the freedom to experiment with more risky elaborations, which have then been copied by some of the Rueda wineries thanks to their success.
Preparation and Aging
Ossian 2022 is a white wine made with 100% Verdejo. The grapes come from low-yield pre-phylloxera vineyards that are grown organically. 26 hectares of vineyards under the supervision of the winery itself, which is more than 100 years old. They are planted on sandy and pebble soils.
The climate of the area is continental.
The harvest is carried out manually in 15 kilogram boxes. Once in the winery, the grapes go through a selection table, with low-yield pressing. Aging takes place for 9 months in new and semi-new French oak barrels .
