Tomás Postigo 3º año 2023

Tomás Postigo 2023, is made with Tinto Fino 88%, Cabernet Sauvignon 6%, Merlot 4.5% and Malbec 1.5% grapes, selected vineyards located between 750 and 1,000 m of altitude and among 37 plots in 15 municipalities of the Ribera of the Douro.

This Winery, without its own vineyards, carries out a selection process, in close collaboration with farmers in the area, from different plots and in different municipalities, pursuing the best grapes.

Preparation and aging

In the winery, the movement of the grapes is by gravity, without pumps, gently. The grapes arrive destemmed and whole at the warehouse. Malolactic fermentation takes place in tanks and French oak barrels. Clarified with natural egg white.

Soils: Calcareous, sandy loam soils predominate, with stones and medium-sized pebbles.

Aging: 12 months in 225-liter French oak barrels from different forests

Tasting Note of Tomás Postigo 2023

• View: Tomás Postigo 2023 has a cherry red color, intense and bright garnet edges.
• Nose: Ripe red and black fruits such as plum, cherry and blackberry, mineral notes such as graphite combined with floral notes. Spicy with hints of pepper, subtle and assembled with aromas of toasted oak. Chocolate sensation and balsamic background, consequently, a very attractive, elegant and fresh wine.
• Palate: On the palate it is a wine with great initial impact but its sweet, ripe tannins and creaminess make it a tamed, round, broad and tasty wine. Retronasal loaded with aromatic nuances and flavors that remind us of toffee and cherries in liqueur.

Tomás Postigo 2023 is ideal to accompany rice with meat, beef and grilled red meats.
