Winemaking and Aging
Avancia Cuveé de O Godello 2020 The harvest is done in boxes, then the fermentation is carried out with wild yeast in French oak barrels (500-600 liters) (puncheons - demi-muids respectively) 20% and the rest in stainless steel.
It ages 8 months on lees in both barrels and stainless steel with batonage. Then proceed to clarified and slightly filtered before bottling.
Approximately 2,500 boxes are produced. This wine has been made with 100% Godello grapes, by Bodegas Avancia. The vineyards are located in the towns of Larouco and Córgomo, in the valley of Valdeorras (Ourense), (northwest of the D.O.).
The vineyards are Barreiros and Ferreiruscas. They are located on the north bank of the Sil River with Southeast orientation.
Traditional viticulture of dry land (Dry Farmed), with planting in glass and manual cultivation, organic.
The year of planting the vines is, in Barreiros, in 1940, and Ferriruscas in 1970. The altitude of the land is 630m above sea level in Barreiros, and 560m above sea level in Ferreiruscas.
The climate is oceanic Mediterranean with Atlantic influence, very cold in winter and very hot in summer. The harvest in Barreiros takes place in mid-October and in Ferreiruscas in mid-September.
