Picota profunda con ribete violáceo: Syrah y Petit Verdot, dos uvas de mucho color, sumando fuerzas.
Nariz
Intensidad alta: fruta negra madura, violetas y pimienta de la Syrah, con un fondo tostado de sus diez meses de barrica. El nombre no engaña: bajo las viñas hay caliza, y ese toque fresco y mineral se cuela al final.
Boca
Seco y carnoso, con taninos firmes pero maduros, cuerpo pleno y buena frescura para su origen manchego. Final especiado y persistente.

Caliza 2021, made with Syrah and Petit Verdot from vines grown in limestone soils, seems very personal and elegant to us, with velvety tannins and a fruity and delicious palate.
Bodegas Pagos de Familia Marqués de Griñón is a family winery, owner of this estate since 1292. They make Pago Wines seeking a differentiated personality and gastronomic pleasure.
Preparation and aging
Caliza 2021 is made from Syrah and Petit Verdot varieties. The grapes come from vineyards between 15 and 20 years old planted on clay soils with pure limestone subsoils, hence its name. The production of Marqués de Griñon Caliza begins with a manual harvest and destemming in the winery. With the prepared grapes, a traditional alcoholic fermentation and a very long maceration, lasting 1 month, proceed.
Subsequently, the wine is aged in Allier French oak barrels for 10 months in a climate-controlled aging warehouse.

- Nose: Complex and intense fruit aromas with hints of blackberries and ripe cherries offset by a subtle minerality and notes of peppermint.
